Hi all! Here's the latest from HR Funk Studios, and I think it's a fun comparison. Take a look, and then let me know what YOU think!

Good video, Howard. You covered the major points in your comparison.
Question: If you shoot consistently better with the 1911, would you give up the extra capacity of the M&P and opt for the 1911 as an EDC or duty weapon?

Truthfully, I probably DO consistently shoot the 1911 better than my M&P duty pistol as a result of its superior trigger. Still, day in and day out I opt for the M&P due to it's revolver-like simplicity and it's lesser maintenance needs. Even so, my current assignment allows me some latitude with regard to my sidearm selection, and for the past several days I've been carrying a Commander size 1911 (the mood to do so struck me on Memorial Day, and it has not faded away yet!). I get an odd look from the kids here and there, especially since the pistol I'm carrying today has faux ivory grip panels, but something just seems right with the world when you are carrying a 1911! Hello Howard,
What a neat video and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It's good to see the comparison and thank you for taking the time to post it here. I would enjoy seeing another one with the actual shooting comparison side by side. (Which would really be neat!).

Speaking only for myself, I find the M&P's repulsive & overly chunky compared to a 1911, Even the 1911 is a little large & heavy for my present carry needs. After lugging around various heavy arms, as a licensed civilian, for decades (even in ATLANTA) I have never needed to draw a firearm - this qualifies it as heavy jewelry - since 100% unused - thank God. Now I live in a very safe locale, & find it easier & more pleasant to carry a much smaller pistol - when I want to. Usually 9mm or under, with a job description of "last resort tool". It is comforting to have a selection of tools fitting almost any need - Fortunately now used as Sporting Goods.
