Hello, A year or so ago I found an old set of Herrett 1911 (D45) Skip Checkered Stocks at my LGS that were in perfect condition & uninstalled, and being into Retro 1911s, I grabbed 'em! The persimmon/orangish Padauk colored diamonds stands out nicely against the black basecoat, especially on a blued 1911 riding in a nice black holster - the only problem is, my Son took 'em (the day I got 'em) and they're on his blued COLT 1911. So, since the day the rascal requisitioned my Herrett's, I have been watching, waiting & waiting for Herrett to do a run and finally, they recently started showing as Available on Backorder. Alright, I'm in for two sets and other than the instant receipt email I haven't heard anything - but at least I'm closer than I was... For those that aren't aware of Herrett's 1911 Skip-Checkered Stocks, they fit & feel very nice and offer a decent amount of plunger-tube coverage. The feel of this pattern is unique as it looks, but it's very comfortable and importantly, it offers a solid purchase during live fire. Here's the ones I'm waiting on. www.herrettstocks.com/product/1911-herrett-full-size-d45-padauk-bevel/

I can understand why you are on a mission to find another set. At least the first set stayed in the family. I wish Herrett made that pattern/design for the HP rather than only their checkered HP grips.

Those are fancy stocks, Bob. I don't think I have any dress shirts to go with them. That Herrett's site looks pretty good. I'm bookmarking a set of Hi-Power stocks in Canarywood. Might have to skip lunch on Fridays for a while to save up. I didn't know you could make wood out of canaries. Must be an Idaho thing.

That's a good one, Mr. C, - the shirts too.
