Looking through many of the forum sites relating to High Powers I notice a goodly number of queries about replacing the factory Girsan MC P35 sights. Many of the discussions apply to MeproLight True Dot Night Sights and whether they can fit the Girsan P35 without having to make milling cuts to the frame.
About half the responses say they fit and many other say they do not fit! Does anyone have definitive experience with Meprolight Night Sights fitting existing dovetail cuts in the Girsan MC P35 slide? Will they fit? Does it typically damage the slide during such installation? Help! I want to put these Meprolight Sights on my Girsan P35 but hesitate to pay the money just to find it won't work.
Can anyone speak to this with experience and knowledge? I'm a bit confused by the varied opinions and seemingly opposed views. Even BH Spring Solutions vast information has not resolved this confusion on my part.
I would sure appreciate knowing for sure about this. C
an you help? Thanks much, I certainly appreciate this great resource of knowledge and advice and look forward to anything you can add. Best Regards to all - alabamafats.

Many, many thanks ToddSig. That is the most definitive statement I have seen on the subject and consequently, I have paid $96-odd dollars for a set of these Meprolight sights from Optics Planet. Thank you very much for the heads up and I will be sure to update and post my results. Order placed July 04, 2023 on line.

Thought I would post a quick update on my quest to install Meprolight sights on my Girsan MC-P35. Thanks to ToddSig I made the leap and got a set of sights from Optics Planet. Nice sights, delivered in eight days (not an unreasonable time I felt).
The sight instructions warn loudly about pounding on Tritium sights and I certainly agree. Naturally, I have on hand only Glock sight pushers. They, of course, do not fit high power slides. I ended up ordering a shockingly expensive MGW Armory Sight Pro (MGW SP1000) and an additional adapter for the high power slide. After carefully watching the various videos on the subject and reading the instructions I assembled the tool and gave it a shot.
With all correctly lined up I tried to move the rear sight out of the frame from the left side toward the right side. I could not get the durn thing to budge one fraction of an inch! Dead solid. While in the process and struggle the so-called "T-handle" slipped out of the too large hole in the threaded cross shaft dropped into the unknown world under my workbench.
I promise I had to spend the whole day cleaning out boxes, tools, supplies, and junk to look for the silver T-handle 4 and one half inches long and one quarter inch in diameter on my hands and knees. Eventually found it while sweeping under the bench. It had been lodged between the base board of the wall and a power cord (and a collection of dust bunnies).
It just slips out if you don't have your hand on it keeping it in place Not a good design and the training videos don't have T-handles with that problem either.
I was too frazzled to try moving the sight from the right to the left by that time, so I just took a bread (and seem to be still doing so). I'll get back at it soon. If I can't even move the Girsan sights, how am I going to get the Tritium sight on the slide in the dovetail cuts? Oh Well - I guess this is why we enjoy the hobby.
I'm going to go wrap some tape around the stupid silver T-handle and maybe that will hold it it place while I try to crank on it next time. I must say I am a little disappointed in MGW Armory as they have had a great reputation and very high quality product always. Not in the instance. Thanks, if I can ever get this figured out I will update my ineptitude again. Best Regards alabamafats.

Fats, run the pressure screw down tight against the sight - then give the head of the pressure screw a quick, sharp rap with your brass hammer. A quick hit while an object is under pressure will usually set it in motion.
Good Luck.

I will for sure add that to my attack plan - which heretofore has included a trip to the local landfill. Seriously, I do appreciate the advice. Best Regards, Fats.

I mentioned in an earlier but recent post that I would document my further ineptitude as it occurred. Well, I didn't have to wait long for that ineptitude to show up.......
I had been complaining about a too loose T-Handle on the tool for adjusting sights by MGW. I sent a note, with a hint of asperity, to MGW Armory about my problem and asking for a new handle or some other similar fix.
The owner of the company himself called me and very patiently pointed out the obvious set screw in the end of the threaded shaft that will hold the T-Handle perfectly in place as intended. If I had just not let my battleship mouth overload my tug boat arse I would have seen that. Thanks to MGW's remarkable courtesy in calling me with help and information I now am in business again.
I am greatly cheered by the fact that the untarnished and even polished reputation of MGW Armory has endured. Thank you so very much for your patience with a thorough dumb a--. Longtime fan, alabamafats

Meprolight Sights of Girsan MC- P35:
Very brief update on my unskilled attempt to remove factory sights and install Meprolight Tritium Night Sights on my Girsan P-35 has proved challenging beyond what I expected.
Last attempt was to press them off with an MGW SR1000 Pro Sight. They will not move or budge one fraction pushing the max from left to right or from right to left. Period.
Next attempt will be to mount the slide in a solid bench vise and to beat the factory sight out with a brass then a steel punch. The vise is in a small workshop space outside and it was 97 degrees yesterday and in the 90s everyday this week. I may wait for a balmy 87 degrees before jumping in on this next step.
Hope all have a good day. Best Regards, alabamafats

Sorry to hear the sight change has been so difficult. I have heard heating the slide near the sight to be removed, but not so hot as to harm the finish, and keep the sight cool with water might open the dovetail enough to move the sight. Also if there is locktite on the slide, the heat will loosen that as well. Keep us posted.
