I am a Collector of Collections and have been for 60+ years. However, now it is time to cull and/or eliminate some or all of them. Due to the volatility of the firearms market today I need a respected, qualified, appraiser to help me value each of the collections. My collections include 1. US Military Long Guns; 2. Browning HP Pistols; 3. M1911 Pistols; 4. Revolvers; 5. Italian Repo Percussion Handguns (all NIB); 6. Hunting, "Fun" guns, carry pieces and others. In addition I have optics (NIB), magazines, holsters as well as other miscellaneous related items. All-in-all there are about 120 guns, although I have not counted them. Can anyone make a recommendation of a good, respected appraiser? Ed Gaulin, West Central Florida.

I can recommend Rock Island Auction for apprasials/sale of gun collections.
When I sold off the bulk of my collection, they sent David Carrol to come here (Lakdland FL) to inventory and value my collection. Then they sent a truck to pick up the whole thing and take it to the auction.
I think a big auction gets the maximum exposure and best prices.
If you are in central Florida I would like to hear what 1911s you want to sell... I am looking for old ones.
FWIW
