Over the next few weeks, you will see some basic housekeeping and thread maintenance to the High Power Collectors forum. Nothing major, more organizational in nature, but hopefully it will make it easier to locate past posts and to create and contribute new posts. This will include adding more stickies to some of the sub-forums, such as Hi Power Images or important and high traffic threads. Hopefully it will be easier to find posts and add content in some of the more frequently used topics within the sub forums. Right now the focus will be on the Hi Power Pistol Discussion section for FN, Browning and clone threads and postings. I am starting today by adding a Tisas BR9 picture gallery sticky. More to come in the next week or so. If anyone has any suggestions for threads or updating the forum, please let me know by sending a direct message. One thing to point out is for visitors to the forum use the direct link for “recent threads”. If you are coming to the forum on the home page you will have to scan the page and scroll for the newest posts. There is a link which will take you directly to all of the new posts, most recent at the top. The link is highpowercollectors.proboards.com/posts/recentBookmark the link, and when you wish to visit the High Power Collectors forum, it will take you to directly to the newest posts and board content. First suggestion is that the Global Moderator of a Hi-Power website should change his handle to ToddBHP!

First suggestion is that the Global Moderator of a Hi-Power website should change his handle to ToddBHP! I agree Johnny, but it is not what it seems. The Sig is not for Sig Sauer, although that is a good and reasonable assumption. I will leave it at that for now.

And here all this time, I thought he had a pile of 210's he wasn't telling us about.
Man, what a let down.

And here all this time, I thought he had a pile of 210's he wasn't telling us about. Man, what a let down. I have a hard enough time feeding my Browning Hi Power habit, let alone collecting a "pile" of Sig 210's. As nice as the 210's are, as well as some other Sig's, and regardless of my name, its best I stay in the Hi Power pool for now. There is always another one I want to add to my collection.

We have made a few minor changes to the site which hopefully enhances the Hi Power Collectors forum experience for members and guests. - We gained more attachment space through some basic file changes and maintenance, so now the Add Attachment function works again (more on this below)
- The site font was increased from 10pt to 12pt making posts easier to view and read
- We lacked any Hi Power graphics, so the header/banner has been updated with images of a Hi Power
- A link to the most recent posts has been added to the home page just above the board listings so new posts can be viewed quickly (or bookmark our most recent post link highpowercollectors.proboards.com/posts/recent
- Guests must become a member before posting
Regarding the posting of images, since we have limited storage space with our forum platform, I encourage members who regularly post images to use the Insert Image icon together with any of the free photo hosting sites. Here are three free images hosting sites with links. With some, all you need is an email and no other info is needed to start an account (Postimages and VGY). These sites are free, allow users to upload and store images and then use a provided direct link to the image to use in posting to forums, message boards and websites. Once you have uploaded your image to the storage site, copy the direct link, then come back to the Forum and use the insert image icon, paste your link in the Image URL box, click insert image and you are done. It is rather easy. Insert Image Icon In using the Insert Image Icon to post images, the images will come in larger than using the Add Attachment function which loads a thumbnail (readers have to click the image to enlarge) and it saves us storage space by not storing the image on the Forum server. Below is an image of my Postimages account page showing the above image and the direct link to copy and paste into our forum Insert Image button. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me. Thanks, Todd

No thanks due to me... my efforts were very basic and limited (maybe because I'm such a novice at making a forum).
I have had health issues recently so when I returned after a short absence I was delighted at the improvements several of y'all have made... Thanks!!
The real success of a forum is the people who use it... the more the better IMHO. I would never have expected to reach 500 members... I recall wondering if we would reach 50 members!
Anyway, thanks to you all for all the growth and improvement.
Chuck

Update on the 3rd Edition of Anthony Vanderlinden's FN Browning Pistols, Side Arms that Shaped World History. As many of you know, this book is used on a regular basis to date and identify Hi/High Powers for many forum members. I reached out to Mr VAnderlinden for an update on the publication date. I have good news and bad news. The good news is there is already about 465 pages with another 200 pages being added. With all of the additions the new edition will probably be double in size from the 2nd edition. Also, in addition to the added pages, there will be corrections and new information, some gathered directly from John Brownings correspondence with FN. The bad news, the third edition will probably not be ready until sometime in 2022. Below is the reply I received from Mr Vanderlinden. I encourage all Hi Power and Browning enthusiasts to purchase this book when available. For more information visit the publishers website. Link is www.fnbrowning.com/book-fn-browning-pistols-3rd-editioThe email update from Mr Vanderlinden "Here is an update on the new FN Browning edition. I know that many folks have been waiting patiently and we have been working non-stop on this increasingly large and extensive book. We can certainly state that it will not be a moderate expansion and revision. Page count may double. We have completed 465 pages of layout as of August 21 and I estimate that we have another 200+ before completing the project. Timeline: I hope to get the chapters completed by the end of December, followed by revisions, page number allocations, and more technical details… before going to pre-press and printing. It is too difficult to set any dates at this time. It is certain that the new expanded edition with corrections, will render the previous two editions obsolete. I have been fortunate to access all of John Browning’s correspondence with FN, which revealed a lot of previously unknown details and challenges. Some memos answered questions that we, as collectors, have had for decades… I thank you for your continued support and patience. I also appreciate you spreading the word about the new book. I kindly ask not to ask us for updates as we do not have the manpower or time to answer inquiries at this time. All the best, Anthony Vanderlinden Author & Publisher-Wet Dog Publications"

The Guns of John Moses Browning, The Remarkable Story of the Inventor Whose Firearms Changed the World, by Nathan Gorenstein. I am about 100 pages in (of about 270 pages) and really enjoying the biography of John Browning. I am at the stage where Browning is working with Winchester, and has just brought his machine gun to Colt and the military testing of running at 600 rounds per minute for three minutes. A few mentions of the hi power in passing, but no details. The book gives a good understanding of the Browning Brothers and how they worked. Well worth reading. Some non Springfield Armory SA-35 news, Update on the 3rd Edition of Anthony Vanderlinden's FN Browning Pistols, Side Arms that Shaped World History. Now looking at Summer of 2022 for publication. From Anthony Vanderlinden's website, www.fnbrowning.com/book-fn-browning-pistols-3rd-editio"Update 10/21/2021: To state that the book project has blossomed would be an understatement. We are facing the problem of manufacturing limits, this work has grown to a calculated 726 pages. This is the ultimate any binding machine can handle. Information keeps pouring in almost daily while I proceed with the layout, I have to come to grips with the fact that the early deadlines are not obtainable. Paper shortages are forcing everybody to book press time months ahead of time, labor shortages have made it impossible to find qualified help to assist with production and business operations. Working 10- to 14-hours daily has had its toll so I made the decision to delay the printing to the next available press time which is the summer of 2022. Such delays have always proved to be beneficial for the end product as it limits the need to compromise. So in a nutshell, we expect the book for the summer and I thank you for your patience!"
