I have an older Hi Power on the way from Classic. Which springs should I replace in order to freshen it up? Are kits available?
Good source for springs?

If you are capable of changing all of the springs at once, that would give you a nice, fresh start on a newly purchased used gun. Mark Allen (a co-owner of BHSS) might argue that there is an advantage to having a new spring work with other new springs, rather than a new spring work with a bunch of old springs.

Either replace everything or leave it alone until you can shoot it and determine if there is a spring related problem. I do not arbitrarily replace springs, however, if needed I am the first to do so.

Replace them all if you can. I like to shoot mine before I do anything to them. With my most recent one, it went for refinishing and complete optimization before I even saw it. I hope to shoot it next week.
Also consider replacing the sear spring. I bought a 1943 with a trigger pull of 2#s, due to a completely shot original sear spring. It would have gone full auto had I not replaced the sear spring (Thanks to the knowledge of members here for cautioning me to check for hammer follow). In the rest of my High Powers, I install the SFS system which includes the hammer and sear springs, which are different than standard HP replacement parts.

In a used High Power, I strongly recommend replacing ALL springs-including magazine and sear springs-and would go with BH Sprting Solution's holistic spring optimization kit(s). You're much better doing them all at once, essentially starting from a definable "ground zero" instead of trying to chase your tail around if issues come up if you only do a partial spring replacement.
Look at BH SS's site-kits, tools, videos-they're all excellent, and very helpful to work with.
Best, Jon

I usually just go with Wolff Springs. My most frequent change-outs are recoil/firing pin/extractor springs.

+1935 regarding BH Spring Solutions - and this is coming from a High Power Armorer that exclusively used Genuine FN-Browning Springs for many years, until I received some BH Springs! bhspringsolutions.com/Slav & Mark have really went the extra mile, in order to give the BHP Community excellent springs. Thanks a Million, to Slav & Mark. Bob Reed
