Had the good fortune to squire a FM HP w/detective slide. Came with 6 mags. Very good thin metal and plastic base plates. Anyone know what factory FMmag looks like?

JFI, the link to the "Mag FAQs" is broken, and there doesn't seem to be any info specific to FM mags anyway. Yep, I have a copy saved.

I had originally posted the PDF of the Mag FAQs with images in the reference section. I while back I had moved some things around on my Dropbox account and the link was no longer working. I have updated the ogiginal post with a new link. It is working, and the version posted, unlike the "wayback machine" has mag images. I recommend anyone interested to download and save a copy of the Hi Power MAG FAQs locally. The new Link is www.dropbox.com/s/xn19c4l9wrcf2ez/Browning%20Hi%20Power%20Mag%20FAQs%20with%20images.pdf?dl=0

Thank you for directing me to such a great resource. Seems I have 1/2 dozen 17 rnd KRD mags. Very mixed reviews out there, I’ll probably give them a try, but I am very fond of Mecgar.
I knew this site would have the info I needed.

My KRDs have functioned and shot fine, but the bases can be a bit fragile. I've had to fix/glue a couple.

You are right about being fragile... I found mine didn't have the best quality steel... if shot extensively, some would crack at the junction of the rear of the feed lips and the back strap of the magazine... I can't complain though... I got them around 1995 from CDNN when standard capacity magazines were hard to get... FWIW Chuck My KRDs have functioned and shot fine, but the bases can be a bit fragile. I've had to fix/glue a couple.

Hello. I'm Carlos from Argentina.
I know I arrived late, but I joined the forum today.
I share photos of 3 FM Browning original magazines from different periods. From LtR:
- 1st FM Browning series from the 70s (came with an unused pistol that I bought few years ago to a retired Army Officer).
- from mid 80s to mid 90s. The latest Browning guns manufactured under FN license and the M90 (standard model and Detective) came with this kind of magazine.
- the magazine that came with the M95 and M02-AR (both in standard and Detective models)
Regards.

Carols, welcome to HPC, and thanks for the images on the three different FM mags.
As you are from Argentina, and have knowledge of FM High Power clones, I was wondering if you have any information on FM serial numbers and how they may relate to date of manufacture. Thanks, Todd

Carols, welcome to HPC, and thanks for the images on the three different FM mags. As you are from Argentina, and have knowledge of FM High Power clones, I was wondering if you have any information on FM serial numbers and how they may relate to date of manufacture. Thanks, Todd Hello Todd. There is no "official records" about the relation of the serial number and year of production. But I will try to communicate with some serious collectors to see what they say. In an old guns forum, an user nicknamed "Sherman" posted this:
"According to my observations, HP "Rosarinas" guns have a serial number that reach until 169xxx moment when the marking is changed to "F.N. BROWNING". The second change of marking, from "F.N. BROWNING" to "FM HI-POWER / INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA" occurred when serial numbers were being used in the order of 319xxx. The lowest serial number observed in an M90 pistol is in the order of 335xxx."
Note: here we call "Rosarinas" to the HP that have the 3 lines markings as the belgian FN HP from that era. In the argentinian ones the markings are: FABRICA MILITAR DE ARMAS PORTATILES "DM" ROSARIO / D.G.F.M. / LICENCIA FN-BROWNING INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA
