Here’s something fun...
I really like my Browning 22 autos for small game, but often I like to get into rough terrain and don’t like beating up the Brownings. I never saw one of the Norinco copies at a reasonable price/condition until recently.
This one has been kicking around back rooms of the shops for quite a while. Lots of nicks/dings around the butt, but never fired. The shop wanted to get rid of it, and apparently I needed a project.
Finally got it out to clean it up and it was throughly packed with cosmoline. I wound up taking it completely apart to get it clean. A real mess. The finish is thin on the metal, and thick yellowish on the wood. And still very cheap. So very suitable for my purposes.
So I got it cleaned, put together, and adjusted and took it to the range.
This thing shoots better than any of my Brownings. Went through a brick of different brands/velocities without a single misfire or misfeed. And as accurate as any within small game distances. The trigger is smoother and crisper than any of my Brownings.
In all, it may be the ugly duckling, but I have the feeling it will see lots of field time!

Congrats!! I love it when a "diamond in the rough" surfaces. I may have seen 1-2 of these Browning copies in the past, but for sure not many. I still have my old original Browning .22cal auto and the hard shell luggage case it came in. I haven't shot it in years.....perhaps it is time!! I believe that I received mine(Christmas gift) in 1972.
