Fascinating information... It seems a bit odd, but I suppose the bankruptcy laws in Hungary could be much different than the ones we know...
Hope we hear more.

This is very good news! Thanks for the heads-up.
Hopefully, they'll keep the standard PJK-9HP in Classic Form available too.

I don't think this is "coming out of bankruptcy" I think this is a completely new group that has purchased the phyiscal assets before they were sold as scrap

I don't think this is a "coming out of bankruptcy deal". As I understand it, after the fall of the Soviet Union, and upon Hungary realigning themselves with NATO, the CEO of FEG, who was an ardent and committed communist, decided that his company would never produce guns that might be used against Mother Russia, bulldozed the factory flat and burned the remains. He even destroyed all of the records and tooling.
Besides, the firearms portion of FEG was just a minor part of the entire operation, so his income was still assured. Fegyver es Gepgyar stands for "Factory for Gas Instruments and Appliances" (or at least something like that). Their main business was the production of equipment for natural gas distribution. That portion of the company is still in business.

Sorry, but I wouldn't want a Hi-power as described. The traditional look is what endears the pistol. Heck, I don't even like the rail adapter made by BHSS for the pistol. Bastardizes the entire look of the Hi-power. YMMV

A few months ago there was a notice in one of the AK forums - that this past summer a limited number run of DRAGUNOV type FEG Sniper Rifles would be assembled from FEG parts In Hungary - & available for purchase @ over $2K. I found this pretty interesting, & wondered about it - I'd like one - but they were beyond my budget.

I'm with ya!
I don't even like the rail on my CZ P-01.
I have zero reasons to hang something off the bottom of my gun.
I am aware that others have different needs... Hence the BHSS adapter. Love those guys!

My comment was in no way a slight towards BHSS. I just don't care for the look of a Highpower with that rail adapter installed. I suppose some people have a use for the thing, but, to me, it uglies up the frame. Having said that, BHSS is the best thing that has ever happened for Highpower owners. Their line of special tools, accessories, and spring kits are tops.

Our good friend Leon is the manufacturer. At the moment my carry piece is not equipped with it but it's good to know that you can do something like the "thing" in the video, when the picatinny is present

IF - I wanted a laser on a HP - I think I'd prefer a grip mounted & activated one on the right side of the pistol. Don't know if any one makes them for HP. But since I think a pistol caliber SBR type weapon, would be better for interior defense, I probably wouldn't need a laser on a handgun at all. None of mine have a rail or a laser & no holsters to hold one.

Crimson Trace makes one as you describe.
Rubber wrap-around grips. MSRP $299. Out of stock right now according to website. I bought one years ago. The beam is somewhat adjustable and it works well. Makes a great cat toy when mounted on a blue-gun!

Nothing new so far as I know...
There was a rumor a while ago that someone (maybe Century) was going to import some India Arms HPs... but I never heard more about it after seeing the comment on a board somewhere... probably not happening...
I think I'd prefer a Turkish made HP over one from India...
FWIW
