I came across this pic looking for something else... It struck me many have never seen the barrel of a 30 Luger chambered High Power... so I thought I'd post these... the photo shows a 30 Luger barrel.. illustrating the different barrel profile. The second photo shows the slide profile from a 30 Luger HP. Here is a 30 Luger High Power, the first one I was able to find. The front sight is different too... As is the rear sight This is what they looked like new... this is the second one I found... Hopefully this will be of interest... V/r Chuck

I love the HP in 30 Luger. They are a real hoot to shoot, and scary accurate if one does one's job correctly.

Interesting. The ammo reminds me of 357Sig.

I've never held or seen a BHP in 30 Luger. Most interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I've seen and handled exactly one. The slide has a flat and a rail to lighten it a wee bit since the recoil impulse of the .30 Lugar is less than 9z19mm. It's also a visible and tactile reminder that it isn't a 9mm just in case.
Military calibres are banned in some countries, Mexico and Italy for example, so the .30 Luger BHPs were directed to those markets.

True re the 9x19 or military cartridges in some countries... The ones I have were, as I understand it were over runs for an order for the Italian market. There are reportedly two batches of these guns... one in the 1970s and one in the 1980s... but not a lot of information is available. The 30 Luger and 357SIG do look a lot alike... though the development process that produced them are opposite from each other. FWIW Chuck I've seen and handled exactly one. The slide has a flat and a rail to lighten it a wee bit since the recoil impulse of the .30 Lugar is less than 9z19mm. It's also a visible and tactile reminder that it isn't a 9mm just in case.
