Nice pic. I am waiting for the BHSS trigger release as well. Can't come soon enough. After inspecting the ejector on the lw and the fm frames, I found the reason why the lw slide wont fit. The ejector is too thick on the fm to fit in the receiving channel in the lw slide. The ejector on the lw frame has a step machined in to it to make the exposed portion thinner to fit in the channel in the lw slide.

The height of your new sights SHOULD be correct to work together... so I would think they could be installed with fitting...
That said I'd call the sight maker and ask their advice... this is probably not the first time they have encountered this and are likely to have the correct answer at hand.

I will give them a call Monday. I mic'd the sights and the trijicon is .0335 taller in the dovetail portion. In the pics above with the sights upside down, the angles seem to match pretty close. That tells me that the factory dovetail is too shallow for actual MK3 sights. The front sight appears to be shallow as well, just not as bad. This makes me wonder about how well the sights would have worked even if they had slid right into place, but not at the correct MK3 height? The more I think about it , the more I'm leaning toward a Novak install.

Also measured the ejector channel on the FN LW and FM slides. The FM channel and ejector is .02 larger than the FN LW. It appears to be larger/wider away from the hammer side. I have yet to check this against my FEG, MK3, T series, or even my other fnlw to see if this is just a feature of the lightweight frames. Sorry for the bad pic, it was difficult to hold the 2 frames in the light and focus the pic.

The more I think about it , the more I'm leaning toward a Novak install. I had Novak install their white dot "Mini" sights on my M95 Detective. I really like them. They have the mini in Tritium as well.

I did the upgraded sights back in 2015, and at the time the front sight height was .165 to go with the mini rear (that is what is on the invoice). Now Novak has the front sight for the mini listed as .170. The Novak website also states the white dot and tritium mini sights have been discontinued. I would recommend you call Novak for what is available, cost in the even of additional milling, and their recommendation on the install. A few images of the front sight.

Thank you for those pics. How has the .165 front worked for you so far toddsig? I have not shot the Detective much recently, but after the cerakote finish and sights I did. Although I am not a great shot, it functions properly and I have no issues with it. Novak does a great job installing sights. I have never had an issue when sending a slide in for sight installation or with any of their recommendations for sights and sight size/height, or with POA/POI upon return.
