Hello, Yes sir, another gratuitous MAK photo and holstered! The Makarovs are hard to beat. I picked up 3 of the Bulgarian ones way back when they were very reasonable, and ended up paying $125 each, out the door with tax, shipping, NICS, etc. One of them had no import markings, and looked like it had never been issued. The other two were also very nice, but you could tell they had been lightly used and have import marks. Gave one to my son on his 21st birthday, and the wife appropriated one for her use, but I hung on the best of the bunch. I would have to say the Mak is my second favorite surplus pistol, behind my Israeli FN Hi Power, but I also have a CZ82 that will give the Mak a run for the money for that second place. Leaving the caliber debate aside I personally believe the Maks make a terrific cc weapon. And their fun as heck to shoot. -Vant
They are indeed fun to shoot! Best, Chris

I forgot to mention probable my favorite surplus pistol to cc and that is my CZ-82. It fits and feels in my hands about as well as any pistol I own. I probable shoot it as accurately as any gun I own too. With 12 plus 1 I don't feel under-armed by any means and it's just the right size to cc. Well built and engineered to boot. I often cc with my Eric Larsen IWB holster shown here. -Vant

You can probably infer from my avatar, that I have a real fondness for the Tokarev. I once owned 4 of them, but to help fund another HP project, I sold all but this CHI-COM Model 54-1 ca. 1956. This is one of my favorite pistols period. Everything about the Tokarev is so unique and interesting; you Tok owners (like Carolinaman) know what I'm talking about. Anyway, I was lucky 6 years ago and found this un-fired (cosmoline covered) arsenal gun. Every part including the magazine match SNs. It did have the screwy import safety which I removed

A couple of my favorite surplus pistols. An ex -German Police Sig Saur 225 - P6, very nice to shoot, accurate low recoil. Very Reliable. goes with me a lot. My CZ 52, received in like new unissued condition. I installed a manual slide release, improved USA made breach lock rollers & firing pin. It is a dandy, very reliable, great fun. I don't use it often - but a keeper none the less

Dang Craig, You are most definitely a candidate for "The Horry County Tokarev Society" here in coastal South Carolina where our motto is "Real Men shoot steel guns, drink vodka and fall for the Motherland".... Fine looking pistols! I also have the Nagant revolver that I haven't fired, but is in excellent condition. Chris

Even as a very young child I realized plastic toys had to be more bulky & weren't faithful to what they were molded after. I asked my folks to only buy me durable metal toys (preferably steel to pot-metal). Unfortunately, can't join because I don't live in Horry county or near any coast. I am in the north Georgia mountains where I live in a cozy mountain retreat, sip neat single malt scotch (when my supervisor isn't looking) & enjoying the views. Thank you for the appreciative words, Craig

Craig,
Pretty cool picture! It reminds me of the castles that I saw in Switzerland during two trips in 2006 and 2008!

Below I a CZ-75 a 1992 Czech Police surplus pistol Part of my conceal carry line up.
Below are two German Police guns, a Walther PP and a Walther PP Super both are surplused from the Rineland Pfaltz (RP) Police The PP Super is in 9X18 Police caliber. Sometimes they are part of my carry routine usually as pocket guns.
