Good video, Howard. It appears that you were having better results with regard to accuracy as you went along. Also, I really liked the look of that holster rig. Could you tell us about it? Lastly, most folks like to run a lot of rounds through their .22s. Do you think the aluminum 317 will stand up to a high round count?

The holster is a generic belt-slide that I bought while I was at the NRA convention. If you check the NRA store, you'll find it there. I think my shooting improved through the video as I became more accustomed to the sights.

Nice video...I was not familiar with that model of S&W revolver, so it was educational for me. I own a few 22cal handguns, and really do enjoy taking them to the range. I have found that when my "trigger action" needs some work while shooting big bore guns, that spending time with 22cal handguns gets me back to good trigger control. Sometimes, there is nothing like a range trip with 22cal handguns. Good shooting on your part.

Taking a break from the bigger guns from time to time and shooting a good .22 is fun and beneficial to your overall shooting. Howard

Glad to see this here! I thought the neatest little gun in the shop was a brand new 317. Price was $659, way too high for me, and apparently everyone else, as the pistol was in the case for over 2 years. I asked what I could get it for, and the boss came back with "what would you pay?" I started the negotiations with $300. She looked at the computer for a minute or so and finished the negotiation with "OK"! Shocked, I quickly whipped out my checkbook! Looking forward to the first range session this weekend.

Went through about 150 rounds in 5 flavors...not a problem! Sure gets dirty. Had a Wilson J-Frame spring kit so I threw that in and it really smoothed and lightened the trigger. I'll try to get by the range today to check my results. Sure wish I had a backyard range.

Another 150+ perfect shots without problems. The new springs worked well, no miss-fires. I might even swap the trigger spring for one a pound lighter. The rear sight screws got loose, but tightened right up. When I decide on "the" round I might lightly Loctite or superglue the screws. Pretty chuffed that I haven't had the ammo/case/cylinder issues that I kept seeing on-line. Yay Me!

Not sure if anyone is interested in this, but I just put the lightest trigger spring in. Will test it for miss-fires this weekend........along with my new 43X!!!

You got a great price on a cool little revolver. Mine has worked perfectly since the day I got it (although I never changed any of the springs). Keep me up to speed ob how yours is doing. Howard

Will-do. The trigger on the 317 is really smooth now. Just wish I could as easily do the same on my old Colt New Service in .45LC.

Ran about 80 trouble-free rounds thru the little gem today (Mini-Mags); with the lightest trigger spring I have. I'll call it 100% reliable, and a bit more accurate in DA now.
