Just saw this site on THR and joined immediately. I bought my first Hipower in the early 90's. It was my first carry gun. I later bought a BDM and carried it. I came across another Hipower two years ago and bought it as a gift to myself for surviving a triple bypass. I love theses guns and they are still my go to carry guns.

We're very glad to have you with us, PF. Sounds like you have the same affection for the Hi Power the rest of us suffer from. We hear it's an addiction but nobody believes it. We've got a good bunch of guys here and I'm sure you'll fit right in. BTW, congratulations on the good results with the triple bypass. That's nothing to sneeze at. Make yourself at home and have a good time. JayPee

Hello All, I was recently directed here from the old H&A forum. Looks like a good place with potential. For those who don't know me, I've been in law enforcement for over twenty five years with Navy service before that. I'm possessed of a love for all things that involve shooting and with strong opinions on the same, but hopefully with a little knowledge to back it up.

Hello Trooper,
Welcome to the board!
I was hoping that you would make it over this way, but I can't solicit public invitations over on the H&A board! I am happy to see that you made it here!
Best,
Chris

Hello...Just found this forum and immediately joined. I live near the Alabama Gulf Coast. Retired from both the U.S. Army and the Alabama Dept. of Corrections. Collect and shoot regularly. Shoot in competition at my local gun club. I'm 65 and only got into competition about a year ago. Good sized collection of handguns. My Hi Power was built in 1969. Beautiful firearm which I was very proud to acquire.

Hello warbird1, Welcome to the forum! It's great to have you here... Speaking of Alabama, I lived in Huntsville for a year or so and opened the Huntsville Marriott as the Director of Catering. We always used to refer to the gulf coast as "LA", i.e. "Lower Alabama". I really enjoyed living there! Been to Mobile and I wished I could have found a job there in the hospitality industry. Thank you for joining us and we look forward to your contributions here! Best, Chris

GREETINGS ! Kind of late doing this. I was hesitant at first because of a lifetime of disappointment with human nature, where familiarity is involved. Everybody here has been very decent to one another, & I have seen no meanness & am comfortable with the group. I was born in St. Louis, Mo. & have lived in Kansas City, Fayetteville Arkansas, Atlanta Georgia (working for about 27 years), Las cruces NM, Florida, & now the North Georgia mountains. I decided to pursue a career in fine arts at an early age. In my teens I participated in sanctioned bicycle racing, specializing in riding the Velodrome in north St. Louis. Taking up sport motorcycling occurred about that time, & continues on today. I was also interested in sports car racing, but was never affluent enough to get further than SCCA drivers school events. I also gave up the notion of MC Road racing. I held a bunch of unusual jobs while in college, Arrest/wanted clerk for St.Louis County Police, Dept store Display production, armed armored car driver, Tropical Plant expert, Cement truck driver. All chosen for rate of pay. I hold a Masters degree in Sculpture, & worked for 3 colleges, as instructor, department head of woodworking, & facilities manager of a sculpture dept. I am going on 71, Have been married over 40 years, retired several years - due to old injuries, I am a cancer survivor (thus far), & have keen interests to keep me busy, + JACK an American Water Spaniel(#3)to hang out with. I am aware "there is no future in getting old" & that any day above ground is a good day. Very pleased to make all your acquaintance.

G'day Craig. An interesting life that many would envy for the variety alone.
I can see your Enfield appears to have disk brakes. Is it a new one made in India, or is it a vintage bike that has been refitted?

Is it a new one made in India, or is it a vintage bike that has been refitted? Hi, It is an east Indian 2010 G5 Deluxe, that I picked up used in New Mexico. It took some sorting, but it handles extremely well now, & is what I believe the Big British singles could have become - they just did it in India - under new management. BTW - It doesn't leak ! Enfield is coming out with a new 650 twin in café & touring trim, @ about $6K. I'd love one, but I always loved big singles (especially now with electric start) & my toy budget went away with my career.

The big 'thumpers' (single-cylinder engine bikes) were a joy back in the day - oil leaks and all. My last motorbike was a Norton Atlas back in the 1970.

Late to find this thread my name is Don Pollock and I live near Louisville Ky. I am retired from State government service after 27 years and 4 months. I already have several posts here and love HR's videos. I am a collector of German WII hand guns.

Hello Craig, Well, we most certainly went to different schools together! I've done more things than most folks know. I've been a teacher, carpenter, ditch digger, shop foreman building windows and doors and so much more... Oh, I can cook the heck out of anything and make it taste good. I spent some 40 years workings in the F&B industry. GREETINGS ! Kind of late doing this. I was hesitant at first because of a lifetime of disappointment with human nature, where familiarity is involved. We might leave out the farm work I've done and raised two kids as a single parent! You are quite correct in your quote "any day above the ground is a good day". I am very happy that you posted here and Merry Christmas from the Stephens Family in South Carolina. Best to you and yours! Chris
