I just wanted to comment on what a friendly and polite group of enthusiasts we are seeing assembled here. I actually stopped looking at firearm forums for several years because of the inhospitable comments I was seeing posted (I get enough inhospitable comments at work, I don't need to spend my time off reading even more!). I don't think we will have such issues here, and I'm looking forward to some good conversations!

Most of us have been "beat up" by rude folks on the forums and are determined that it won't happen here. i.e. we intend to keep it friendly and cordial. Best wishes. JayPee

Thanks for your kind comments... we are determined to have friendly and polite forum here... we don't have many rules but the prime one we all agreed to when we started this forum was we would have a "No Jerks." Everyone has to put up with way too much rude, crude and socially unacceptable in our daily life.
A lot of here already know each other, and in fact are here mostly because of that sort of things on other boards... We will do our best to keep everyone happy...
Thanks again.

Hello HRF,
Yes, thank you for your kind comments. I really think that this is going to be a great place to post your experiences and thoughts in a very comfortable format. From the onset, we also agreed that we don't want to "over moderate" the forum in such a way that it doesn't prevent folks to want to participate. Personally, I would like to see one hundred folks show up and participate; rather than one thousand sign up and never participate.
I really appreciate folks introducing themselves here and encourage folks to keep introducing themselves here as they sign up. The gun community is a very friendly community with shared comradeship and we should always do our best to represent ourselves.
We have a fine group of members here and are off to a great start!
Best,
Chris

Hello. My name is Shaun and I am a consulting forester here in NH. I see a bunch of names unrecognize from the two S&W forums, Sigforum and another spot or two.
Currently own just one Israeli surplus HP from CDIsales. Have used BHPspringsolutions to make it even better.
I'm more a S&W fan. Love their revolvers especially.
Glad to be here.

Hey Burgs!
FYI, I spoke with Keith, aka "chuntaro" a couple days ago. He's headed Norte to do some Trap shooting and said he'd sign in here when he has time at a computer.

Todd Middleton here. I'm a Kansan. Interests are hunting, shooting, reloading and I'm a hopeless gun tinkerer. We have a ranch in the Flint Hills region of the state that is a refuge from the city life we endure through the work week. When I was an active (rabid) shooting competitor, there was no one locally that worked on 1911's that knew what they were doing. That was my impetus for learning. I was a ranked "Master" in USPSA in the "pre Grand Master" days, and was a "High Master" NRA Action Pistol competitor. I broke a lot of parts, I shot a lot of ammo, I was always looking for an edge up with equipment. My first centerfire Pistol was a P-35. I made the transition to 1911's due to the limitations of the BHP in the games I played; chambered in 9mm you were shooting minor and it had a far more difficult trigger to work with. I'm in mid geezerhood at 65 yrs., but am still actively involved with shooting and new shooters. We have a match each Friday at an outdoor range that is styled after USPSA principals. We have a "carbine/rifle" match once a month- weather permitting. We believe that new shooters are the lifeblood of the 2nd Amendment. I feel a responsibility to encourage and instruct new shooters. I have worked with LE personnel (range Masters) in the past as an contributing instructor. I'm our groups "go to" guy for 1911, S&W revolver and P-35 repairs and "refinements". I am NOT a gunsmith, merely a passionate hobbyist. I have a couple boxes of destroyed parts to prove it. I also have a few success, in the form of fine, working handguns. My thanks to Jay Pee for the invite, I recognize a lot of the members. Best regards. T

Huntershooter----what part of Kansas? I'm going to guess Wichita. Close? :>))
I'm originally from Coffeyville. Left at age 10 (Dad in U.S.A.F.) Returned 7 years later to attend college in Pittsburg.
Spent two summers in college working at the Continental Baking Company (Wonder bread plant)in Wichita. My Uncle was the plant manager. They gave me the sh** shift working nights. Oh yeah!---------they worked my a$$ off!!! Plant managers nephew??? College kid??? Not pretty! They paid me $2.78 an hour, and I was rolling in the dough Pun intended).
My college squeeze was from Wichita so that helped. Heard she's married with lots of kids. Good for her.
