Hi All! Have you ever wondered how a 19th century firearm would fare on a 21st century qualification course? Well, I did. In the video below, I pit my Marlin 1894CP against a qualification course intended for modern tactical carbines. What do you think? Is it possible to qualify with the Marlin levergun? To find out, click on the link below. As always, be sure to let me know what you think!

Hello Howard,
What a fun and informative video! I really enjoyed that one and I believe the lever action carbine has a place as a "tactical" weapon...
Thank you for sharing it!

Chris Thank you Chris, I agree! The little levergun, however, lacks the "tacticool" aura of the latest, greatest, plastic & sheet metal, ultra-modern conglomeration. Even so, a competent rifleman can still defend self and home with one. Howard

Great video and nice shooting Howard!
I’m definitely a levergun fan. When my nephew got into AR’s, we would set up courses with steel and reactive targets. I used a Win 94 in 44 mag loaded with heavy 44 specials.
He’d probably beat me know, but at the time, it was quite a lot of fun to run the courses with the old carbine and watch the surprised looks on his face....

Good video, Howard. I was particularly impressed with your ability to actuate the lever. Nicely done.
