I'm sure the HP will serve you well and deliver excellent service.
My .40HP is now a 357SIG HP... works great and is accurate too... but most 357SIG pistols are.
Looking forward to seeing a range report on the new gun.

Here you go... it is a KKM barrel. They say it is semi-drop in... mine dropped in with no problem, but that is of course an insurance that another barrel/pistol combination won't require some fitting. One thing is sure... is is VERY accurate and very powerful. V/r Chuck I'm sure the HP will serve you well and deliver excellent service. Speaking of Mark IIIs having a tour of duty, you'll find Mark IIIs filling the holsters of Australians deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq these days.

I guess I can keep this thread alive with my own “cocked and locked” tale. I always carried my pistol concealed so did not encounter the comments about having the hammer back, concealed means just that so the whole world did not know I was carrying. However, on an extradition to New York City while riding in the back of a detectives car with the prisoner we went to Rikers Island to pick up the creeps property. Stopping at a guard post I was ordered to unload my HP , holding the ammo in one hand and the pistol in the other I was directed back into the vehicle. We drove to the building, detective number two went inside and got the junk while I dutifully guarded the prisoner with ammo in left hand pistol in right both of us sitting in back seat. Off to the check point where I was told I could load my pistol, after three days in NY and dealing with that Cities police nothing bazar surprised me. Funny on another extradition to NY (Long Island this time) the detectives aided me in every way possible and even told me when they served a warrant in NY city they did not ask for assistance or permission and grabbed the guy and split for home due to the lack of cooperation by local officers. That certainly was my experience. I did carry that Hi Power for about six months while in uniform while waiting for an order of S&W 59’s I had placed for the dept. I carried it in a high rise holster close under my right arm (as I previously did with my model 19 where maximum retention could be obtained by pulling arm back against the body in crowded situations. The Model 59’s were brand new at that time and we were one of the first to authorize it’s carry or a Model 15 revolver the officers choice. Much later the revolver was abandoned (except for plain clothes or backup pistols).

For obvious reasons we don't normally carry inside the chain links, but Mo corrections right now uses Block 22 or 23 for the most part. If hauling C5s, maximum, inmate one of us carried on an outcount. That would be as in a special medical run or what not. I don't mind shooting them but don't normally concealed carry one. I bought mine for experimentation. One G21 with a 9" Dasan barrel for 45 supers and a G21 for a 50 GI slide and magazine. Still like the feel and classy look of the HP. Too bad the State doesn't recognize the gun in same caliber for carry. But I can see they want magazine interchangeability. Be Well, Bandito.

Bandits, You guys have a language of your own I had to read this several times to decipher the “corrections terminology” since I only aided in putting them in, never worrying as to the troublesome requirements to keep them in. I salute you for doing a thankless job that I would dread having, HP on my hip or not.
