For those of you who own the BDM, I have put together a guide for detail stripping this interesting pistol: BDM Detail Strip GuideI really enjoy mine. I got lucky as it came with 3-factory 15 rnd mags. I'm thinking about getting another BDM, a BDM Practical or maybe a BPM-D. Almost as addictive as 1911's and Hi-Powers!

I'm trying to get the link to work. I've done it two different ways with the same result. If you'd like the pdf, email me at chakari@gci.net and I'll sent it to you.

Link worked for me, that’s awesome, thank you!
The BDM is one of those guns I rediscover every couple of years and get really into for a while, then put back into the safe.
I’ve been really lucky with mine, trigger is pretty good, and very reliable. Keeping fingers crossed!
Thanks!

Chuck H, thanks for authoring the detail strip guide and sharing you experience and knowledge. Not sure if I wish to detail strip my BDM, but should I need to, the guide will be great to have and follow. I have saved the file and will print it out as well. My BDM

I'm glad you guys like it.
My BDM was very clean and didn't need to be detail stripped, but I'm hoping get a lot of use out of it, including cc, so it would need to be thoroughly cleaned some time in the future anyway, so why not learn how to do it while I have some time on my hands.
Also, another BDM owner I have been in contact with has been looking for a guide like this, so I figured why not do it for the both of us, and anyone else who might need to do a detail strip. This owner also gave me the name of someone who will make a SS recoil spring guide rod to replace the stock plastic one, so I will now have a customized BDM!
Another contact (he has two, a BDM and a BPM-D), makes holsters, so I 'll have an OWB holster to carry it on the hip to go along with my slightly modified El Paso Saddlery 1942 Tanker I use to carry it when I go on walks with my wife.
The more I handle it, the more I like it. I have no problem the "backwards safety." I just use it as the decocker, and flick it back up so it is ready in DA. This is when I have it in the Tanker. Might rethink that when it is on the hip.
One other thing I'm thinking about is making wood grips. If my idea for doing this without expensive machinery pans out, I'll share it here.
Toddsig: I should have used your photo for the cover! Mine is quite poorly done.
