Just picked up one of these. www.omegaarms.us/our-products/regent-9-x-19-mm/I am rather impressed; have only field stripped it but in comparison with two FN Mk. III pistols regarding quality and parts interchangeability it's pretty nice. Haven't had it out yet--I don't shoot in the middle of snowstorms anymore. Removing the mag safety is on my to-do list. I've done it before by driving out the trigger pin on two other HPs, and C&S had to do another for me because it was just in too well. But I got to looking at this one and thinking...the safety's shaft is retained by a roll pin. I'm trying to decide if simply driving out that pin without removing the trigger itself (supporting the trigger solidly in the process) would get the job done. It seems that the roll pin would drive out relatively easily (Kroil prep?) and the mag safety parts should just fall out the back of the trigger, into the mag well, and done. Thoughts? Thanks.

I'm no expert, but this has been widely done on BHPs. I'm certain there are threads on forums and videos on youtube. Looking forward to your range report and follow-up experience with the Tisas.

In theory, you should be able to drive out the roll pin without taking the trigger out of the frame. However, I always prefer to take the trigger out when I take out the disconnector.
I will admit I like the looks of the Stainless steel HP clone. Hmmmm...

Hey guys, On the magazine safety, there is a good you tube video showing how to remove the pin WITHOUT REMOVING THE TRIGGER ! It works, I have done it to both of my used Fegs. The trick is to find a plastic bottle cap the correct height & size to support the trigger while removing the pin with a punch. I had to hacksaw off a bit of the cap I found, so the pin had space under it to come through. I use a dainty needle-nose pliers to wiggle & pull the magazine plunger out, toward the rear, accessed from the top of the frame. It's really very easy - probably more so on a clean new gun. I like easy, & also I didn't want to disturb the main trigger pivot.
BTW. I am planning on buying on of the stainless HP clones. Got the $$ together - Just waiting for them to arrive. I prefer stainless pistols. I do not like the logo grips, & not crazy about the REGENT billboard on the slide - in the photos I've seen. But the ones Omega shows are SHARP - love the sights ! Now that the FN/Browning HP is out of production, they ought to put a tasteful "HI POWER" roll mark on the slide instead.

Craig mate, I'd change the grips in a heartbeat, and a C&S extended safety and be super happy. The rollmark doesn't bother me nearly as much as the Legalize doo-doo S&W puts on their guns these days.

Hi Dienekes, Did you get stainless or black ? What were the prices like ? Is stainless pistol in stock now ? Hope you can help me with this info. I emailed for a quote, but have not heard back. LKCI LLC. is the importer, & they are lax about returning phone or email inquiry's. Wondering if omega is a retailer, & why they'ed have them in stock if - the importer distributer does not, & how much more $$ they tack on.?

Criag, I think Omega and LKCI is the same, just operating under different names, perhaps one, LKCI as the importer, and Omega as a retailer. If you look at the contact page, both are located in Newark, OH, and the website designs and offerings are pretty much the same.

Todd, I think you are right. I just got excited over by the BR9S pictures Omega posted. I had only seen previous pictures of Regents BR9S, with small early military sights & the wood eagle logo grips, & big slide Billboard. Omegas pix show what looks like a NOVAK Combat Sight set or copy, + smaller logo, & plain military grips. I loved the pistol pictured, & would like to know if the black ones already in the hands of forum members, came equipped like the pictures Omega posted ?

[/quote] Hi Craig, yes, the BR9 I ordered in Jan had the improved sights and the Regent roll mark was not overly large. Hopefully the SS model with be the same when they arrive. It did have the Eagle wooden grips, but as you mention, if you dont like them they are easily switched out.

This is killing me. The last time I checked, we can't even buy squirt guns in California.

Hey Regent HP Fans, I just posted an update in the "HP Clones section", on how to proceed ordering from LKCI LLC, ETA, cost, & etc.
Mister Coffee, IMO "Commiefornica" is racing towards disaster. If you consider fleeing, check out the North Ga. Mountains area. low crime, sensible laws, excellent property prices, low stress, + nice people. Google the towns of interest north on hwys 575/515 & read the DEMOGRAPHICS. I like it here !
