I was about to stop looking at other rare Singer M1911's but these links made me wonder, why do they have sooooooooooo much money to buy the rarest(s):
1.  $145K - SN S800221 which was sold much earlier than SN...0001

2.  $70K - SN not indicated in the article nor on the photo (but lots of stories) sold less than two years after the serial # ....0001

The prototype price is much lesser than the SN...0001.

I'm just wondering why the SN....221 would cost so much than SN....0001. Is it because of the many paperworks that goes with it?
