When we started this board we knew that reference materials on the High Power were limited at best. We also knew we had members with a lot of useful knowledge that would be of interest and use to the membership, many of whom are fairly new to the high power. We decided we needed a reference section and boldly set out to offer a reference section... We found out in quick order such an undertaking was no easy thing... happily, we were fortunate enough to have a number of members join in and post materials that have proved to be popular to our membership... and to them I say 'THANKS!'
Likewise, our moderators have brought to the table their considerable experience, knowledge, patience and enterprise... without which we most assuredly would not have gotten as far as we have.
From day one, we resolved we were not going to be contentious, quarrelsome, petty or rude and to that end we established RULE #1 - BE NICE! I want to take this opportunity to once again say thanks to everyone... We have so far managed to achieve that goal... which I believe also contributes to the willingness of new members to join in here.
Our moderators are a big factor in how well we operate... and I think they do a superb job... For one I'd like to say "Thank You" to each of them... they put in lots of hours and much effort to make this board a success.
Finally to our members, I hope you continue to have fun here as well as finding it interesting... we look forward to a lot of discussion and exchange of information in the future... Thanks for joining us.
Chuck

Well said. May our deportment in all things be genteel and affable. If you're gonna use complicated, fancy words, and send me to dictionary every five minutes, I don't know if I'm going to have time to post in the forum.

Hello,
I think that the folks here need to pat themselves on the back for the great civility that is shown here on this forum. A forum is only as good as it members. You folks have done a fantastic job!
Best,
Chris

Maybe warthogge wants to keep us on toe. Deportment, that I'm aware, but genteel and affable are new to me. Thank you warthogge for adding two new vocabulary words to my aging wisdom. Appreciate it.

Hello I'm new to gun collecting but I came across a browning hi power 9mm that I can't figure out when it was made. The serial number is F30151 I can't find anything on this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! Hi Les, as Bob mentions, images always helps for a more definitive identification. But as far as I know, FN/Browning did not use F as a serial number prefix. FEG, the Hungarian maker of Hi Power clones did. From what you posted, I assume what you are looking at is an FEG clone of a Hi Power. Markings would help, but in addition to properly roll marked FEG clones, they also produced some counterfeit FN marked Hi Powers.
