Given that the 1911 and HP are sort of 'half brothers' I thought this might be a good opportunity to let everyone show off their favorite 1911s... This is a 1931 production Colt's 1911A1 made for the Argentine Army... it is an early example of the A1 variation. When it comes to carry, S&W's commander type 1911 with the Scandium frame is hard to beat... it is the best out of the box 1911 I have ever encountered... it was good enough to carry without any modifications at all!!! Anyhow, that will do for a start... which 1911s do y'all like? Chuck

Hello, It's my Colt Series 70 bought NIB a year or so ago. I've waited many years and owned a lot of 1911's before I got this one. Chris

The 1911 I built for the Mrs ... mostly Sig parts, screwed up the Cerakote color, but was forgiven because of how it turned out.

The two I shoot the most:
My best shooting 45's are an ORM 1991 and a S&W 1911. I'll get some better pics up soon.
The cheapest, and possibly ugliest, 1911 I have. But a fantastic shooter:
Don't have many pics of the Smith, here it is with a CZ and a Sig...
Thanks Chuck for getting this started, I like that old A1!

Only one 1911 platform, 2006 Kimber Pro CDP II. I think all gun enthusiasts should have at least one 1911 in their possession. When first acquired it ejected the spent shell directly to my forehead. Talk about flinching. Changed out the springs and all was good. Nice gun, but much prefer the HP.

Here are my budget 1911's. They are both 100% reliable, good looking to me & paid for. Ruger SR 1911, & RIA Compact Officers Model, both modified to my preference.

Nice! My RIA certainly won't win any beauty pageants, but has been 100% reliable since day one.
