I have never owned a Browning Hi Power, but I do currently have a very nice FN, a FEG, a Luger, and a Mauser. One or two other FEGs have moved on to new owners, making room for something else. I thought it would be fun to start a thread with pictures of members' FEG manufactured Hi Power pistols, so here is one of mine. It is a Hard-Chromed Mauser 80SA wearing Thin Navidrex Micarta Grips. This is the best picture I have right now - I may have to see if I can get my cell phone camera working for updates on the collection.

A beautiful pistol and a great idea, mrbill. I'll post a couple of mine as soon as Photobucket is finished being difficult. Thanks for sharing this photo, we'd love to see the rest. JayPee

Here are two I've treated identically with Novak sights and Hogue grips. The first one was purchased in unfired condition but without the box in 2009. It cost $315. The second one appeared in stock form on the cover of "Decoding The FEG Hi Power," and was purchased in 2009 from a gentleman Tennessee farmer new-in-the-box for $400. I forgot to mention that I fitted a BHP ambi safety to this one. They both have first rate triggers in them. JayPee

Toddsig,
I don't think I've seen the FP9 with those grips before. It looks good!

Here are a couple more pictures of the Mauser 80SA from back in July, 2012 when I had just bought it. The Mauser Logo is barely there, but I like the pistol quite a bit, anyway. First, the left side after my initial cleaning and rub down ... Next, some gun porn? Stripped down and naked to the world ... Attachments:

Nice looking FEG'S guys! I've never owned a FEG Hi-Power, but I always wanted the Kareen model thinking they were made by the Israeli's until JayPee decoded them......

Here is my 99% mint Kassnar PJK9HP. I traded a customized Hi Point 9mm carbine even for it. They were asking $350. I think it escaped being used, due to the weak ejector spring. Now its a very sweet running specimen, that started my HP interest. Attachments:

FEG made some nice guns... the finish on my first one is easily as good as on any FN made gun. This is the first FEG I bought... it is stock save for the removal of the magazine interlock and addition of Mec-Gar sights. FWIW CHuck

Here is my FEG/Mauser model 80 SA, although not quite as nice as some others here, many parts have been replaced, all are Feg except a new REMSPORT barrel. The slide was also refinished. So far I'm sticking with my military sights, which I have given the paint treatment that works for me - the front sight was shaved & painted also - Which I will enclose in Volume II.

Volume II, My FEG Mauser sight treatment, & Beautiful new REMSPORT Barrel. This sight picture works best for my elderly eyes & is on most of my pistols, here it optimizes the fairly sleek military sights. Still saving a set of Novaks - but can't decide yet. Attachments:

Here's my ex-Israeli FEG with an extra helping of patina: This one is a 'B' serial number pistol, but has the little 'flare' at the bottom front of the mag well. It often sees carry duty in a Summer Special style IWB holster. As long as I use Mec-Gar magazines it will feed my JHP of choice (Federal C9BP) flawlessly. As far as modifications, it appears to have had the magazine disconnect removed while in Israeli service, and probably had it's present 2-coil trigger return spring installed there as well. (However it seems that whoever did the work removed the trigger assembly by driving the pin out in the wrong direction, which swaged the smaller right side frame hole out. I had to peen the holes to prevent the trigger pin from walking.) I did replace the ejector spring, but everything else, as far as I know is stock, including the grips and sights. It has the Arnold Schwarzenegger of mainsprings, as the slide is almost impossible to rack unless one first manually cocks the hammer, even if using the hand-over-top method. The Israelis possibly upgraded this to reliably ignite their hard-primer sub-gun ammo.

Here's my latest acquisition, an FEG Counterfeit FN. I purchased it from Cole's Distributing. Since then I've replaced the extractor spring and mag catch spring, and I've replaced the firing pin spring and firing pin. It came with some dirty and worn out Pachmayr finger groove grips, but I replaced them with a set of FN Military grips that I had that were looking for a new home. I've proven this pistol out with a couple hundred rounds of various LRN, plus several magazine-fulls of Federal 9BP JHPs. Accurate and 100% reliable now, using MecGar 13-round magazines. I'm using it as my carry gun right now.
