I would certainly go for it at $600... at auction I suspect it would go for considerable more than $600 because of it's WWII connection.
As a data point, the Izzy captured Syrian crested HPs sold off as a part of the Izzy Surplus HPs in recent years, sold for about $800 and the last one I saw was asking $1,100...
It is certainly an interesting gun, I have yet to see one in the flesh...

I will definitely be sticking around. I'm on quite a few forums, mainly frequent Arfcom, Falfiles & akfiles. A few years ago I regretfully sold off a heavily worn T series hp that I had scored at a local shop for $349! I've missed it ever since and won't make that mistake again. I have accepted the guy's offer on the trade and will hopefully have that hi power in my possession soon, I'm just waiting to hear back from him to finalize the ffl swap and details on shipping. I'll be trading a police trade in Colt Sporter Target ar15 for the hi power, 9 mags and 3 sets of grips + $200 cash

I can't speak for anyone else, but I sure did learn some new HP information, thanks to Mr. Burgs, and Submoa. I think that this forum has a very bright future!!!

Just picked up the hi power! Here's a pic of more markings on the inside of the slide, and the non ejection port side of the barrel

canes173, I saw in the sample pages of the FN HP Pistol Explained_hlebooks (page of Dismounting of the FN High Power via youtube timeframe 0:19~0:24) showing a "Model A bushing which can be unscrewed and removed from the guide (recoil) cyclinder" which is similar to 3rd photo. Model B is the current ones used.

Canes 173,
Could you show a pic of the guide rod?
It's probably just me, and in the photos of your first post it's hard to tell, but it kinda looks like the front end of the guide rod is showing threads without the cap on it.
The forward end of the guide rod should have a screw-on cap that secures a spring inside the tube that holds a ball bearing against the the loop end.

The end with the threads is actually the "cap", I just tightened it back in a bit.

Canes173,
Sorry it took me so long. I've been checking the various reference sources I have, and none of them show the old style guide rod with any thread showing at the front end. I don't have any old style guide rods myself, but from all the photos I believe that the front end plug should be screwed all the way until it's flush with the front end of the tube.
