@ Bob @ Todd: I'm happy to see this pistol come to market, but if the modifications and improvements alter or affect the original Hi-Power's ergonomics, then we lose a little bit. My concern about the front strap was that the grip would feel bigger in the hand. You guys will have to do the field testing on this because I won't be able to buy one. They don't sell guns in California anymore. Totally agree with Mr C. And, pretty much all of the reviews have been by the typical generalized guns and ammo trade publication reviewers and not by Hi Power enthusiast and experts. That will be the true test when serious collectors and Hi Power gunsmiths such as Don Williams, C&S, Bob Cogan get their hands on them and start to pass judgement, rather than the more generic corporate marketing reviews we are now seeing. Mr C, you should join the CA migration to Texas or to some other gun friendly states. I am in VA, and over the past couple of years more and more restrictions on gun owners, and it never stops, the gun grabbers are never happy. They always expect/demand more restrictions, and wont be satisfied until all guns are confiscated and the 2nd amendment is eliminated.

Todd, yes, I noticed the beefed-up lower lug right off and couldn't help but think that swap compatibility would be in reverse of what was reported. It's too bad that they veered off print with the availability of aftermarket barrels, especially now that BHSS's HP Barrels are available.
Mister Coffee, hopefully the size and contours will be very close and the difference in feel will be no more than going from a Browning with a forged frame to one with a cast frame. If the grip panels are as curved from front edge to rear edge and as thick in the center as they appear, it will have a larger feel in the grip area, but be more pleasant than the squarish/blocky factory FN walnut stocks. The grip area is for sure an area that I hope they held to print, if so, maybe we can avoid some of the common fitting problems we're faced with on the cast frame Browning.

I thought they were going to secede under President Abbott and immediately go to war with Panama to get our canal back. "Momma, put my guns in the ground. I can't shoot them anymore." — Bob Dylan I'm getting too damn old. I'd like to move somewhere. All the friends I used to have in Texas are either sick, dead or out of luck. Maybe Virginny . . . ?

Hello Mr. Coffee. I highly suggest you move to Texas. LOL Seriously, Mr. Garthwaite wouldn't checker my T series as it was forged and the front strap too thin (~.0895"). I have compared one of my cast frames to the forged and even though the front strap is a little thicker (~.1010"), they feel the same. Hopefully, the SA35 will not be much thicker, yet enough to checker.

Or they have a connection to some VERY pure drugs. Putting one out there for 3.5 times the S.R.P. & hoping someone will pay that, instead of waiting a little while? Talk about the "Greater Fool" theory...
