Hello. I see a number of BHP listings on gunbroker with descriptions either for 4" barrel or 5" barrel. I'm told a 'standard' length barrel is 4.56" .....is this just the lister rounding up or down in their description? Much Thanks.

Hello,
The BHP barrel length is 119mm. Or 118mm depending on where you look on-line. Converted to English, that's 4.6850393701 inches. Browning USA lists it as 4 5/8 inches which is 4.625 inches or 117.475mm.
In the end they are all the same barrel length, one would hope!
The seller is probably copying text from some other seller or just trying to get close and doesn't even really care.
Cheers,
Tim

Hello,
The 4 3/4" inch measurement includes the nub at the top of the chamber's face, and the 4 5/8" measurement doesn't.
FN dropped the nub on the chamber's face around 1994 if my memory is correct, however, barrels with the nub were used up and sometimes appear on Post 1994 pistols.
