Hello Folks, I wanted to start a thread to allow all of us here to introduce ourselves. It's good to see that folks are migrating over from the other place where we were tolerated stepchildren. Retired from Federal LE after 27 years. Criminal Investigator, Special Agent, Senior Special Agent, Supervisory Special Agent. Also flying and flight instructing since 1970, but now I consider myself semi retired from that and mainly fly for pleasure with limited teaching thrown in. Worked with Burgs for 13 years, flew with him, and went shooting with him. Time to get showered up and head to our monthly retiree breakfast......................

Hello, my name is Todd, and I am a Hi Power addict. I am from Alexandria, VA. Thank you for starting this Hi Power board, it feels like home. Welcome aboard, Todd. Lived in Alexandria during a few Army tours in DC.
Many fond memories of downing a couple (?) of schooners at The Fish Market in Olde Town! :>))
HP addict? You've come to the right place!

Hello Todd, That's very interesting actually. My niece and her husband live on Capitol Hill and were down that way last weekend... Glad to be here, thanks for the welcome. Ranger, Fish Market is still open and active in Old Town, my kids now go. My nieces husband is a very active outdoorsman that has written for a lot of different publications and is from MS. I asked him one time "where do you keep all of your firearms living in DC?" He just winked and held his index finger up to his mouth and gave me the "shhhssss". DC is a tough town to own firearms.... Best, Chris

Hi Chris,
No doubt on DC being a tough place for firearm owners, MD as well.
Virginia is good, but living next to DC and MD can at times be a challenge. You need to be aware where you are headed. I have to travel to DC and MD pretty regularly, and because of the restrictive laws I dont carry nearly as much as I would like. One time after a range trip I inadvertently left 100 rounds of .45 cartridges in the back of my car. I did not notice it until after a trip into DC. If I had been pulled over and they were discovered it would have been a very unpleasant and costly ordeal. Now I check very carefully after all range trips.

Hello Todd, Yes Sir! I know that as well! I was born in DC and raised in suburban Chevy Chase, MD. When my Mother retired from the National Bureau of Standards, she bought a farm out in "then rural" Loudoun Co. VA. It's still a working farm and she raises cattle now at 91 years old. It was a mecca for shooting! However, now when I travel up there, I have to be pretty much in touch with the laws having a SC Concealed Weapons Permit and state reciprocity agreements. Trust me, I don't ever go over the Potomac River headed North from VA. to MD. I've lived in SC for almost 30 years now and it is a great state for gun ownership! Best, Chris

Hello BHP fans! I am certainly no bhp collector by any stretch . I do enjoy all steel JMB. Plastic is for toys! Glad to find another alternative to disparate regulatory practices.

Kind of late to the party of introducing myself, but never the less it's great to see a whole lot of BHP information here. And good people I might add. I'm always ready to learn something new, or contribute my minuscule memory bank of knowledge.

We thought about naming it the "Gettin'-the-heck-out-of-Dodge-Hi-Power-Forum" but didn't figure Proboards would go for it.
