After the 1911s, I like the S&W 645 and the SIG P227/220 pistols.
They are well built, accurate and reliable.

I owned 3 Webleys that I miss, a MKIV & 2 MK VIs, both adapted to 45 ACP in full moon clips, I also regret selling a S&W 1917 45 ACP with full Moon Clips. Unfortunately I had to sell them to upgrade, would have kept them - if I could have afforded to.

Nice! I let a 645 get away and have kicked myself since. Wound up getting a 457 a while later. For a lightweight 45, it’s surprisingly fun to shoot (I put the soft rubber Hogues on mine).
I never shot the base 220 well, a gun I really wished I liked better. I’ve always wanted to try one of the 220’s with longer barrels or comps, or with different grips.
The sweetest shooting .45 I’ve fired is a coworker’s Tanfoglio.

I own a couple of Taurus LW ported, snubby, revolvers that are chambered in 45LC, but utilize stellar clips so that one can shoot 45ACP also. This makes them fun to shoot when not shooting 1911s, but want to shoot 45ACP. In fact, one of them will be with me today at the indoor range.

I’ve been having fun going back through some of my older posts and came across this one. I recently took my own advice and tried a new take on an old p220. This is an old family hand me down I never really enjoyed. But a trip to Sig for their srt, new night sights, and tgeir action enhancement package, plus the e2 grips, really made it a great 45. Anyways, I sold off the 457 and Witness and this p220 is now my only non-1911 45...

My Colt and S&W 1917s, and Enfield MKVI. I also have an Enfield No.4 that I rebarreled to .45ACP. That's a hoot to shoot.

As mentioned above. The p220/P227.

As mentioned above. The p220/P227. Very nice! I really am liking the p220 and would love to find a p227 at an affordable price around here. In the meantime I came across a USP compact that isn't as fun to shoot as the P220 but gets the job done and was quite a bit cheaper. I may try converting it to LEM and seeing if I like it any better.

I have heard good things on the USP. Very nice-looking pistol.

I have heard good things on the USP. Very nice-looking pistol. Thank you. It certainly is very solid and reliable, though I do not shoot it as well as the Sig. I certainly want to like it more, maybe it will grow on me with some use.

Hello, Ruber,
NO, that's not how HK's are supposed to work. The cartridges are loaded backwards on the HK catalog as well and I remember people (myself included) laughing about it back when.
Seriously, were you trying to mimic the HK catalog to see if anyone would notice?
