I'll add that I control either type of hammer/spring assembly using a stout twist tie (basically plastic coated wire) that was on a roll of ethernet cable I bought a few years ago.

Thought I'd share a funny on this subject as I just replaced my safety and did this without a hammer hold back tool... used my hands, ugh! So, after trying to get the crosspin in and it was hanging up on the ejector's hole over and over and over my hands got so tired that my thumb slipped and the hammer dropped taking my thumb with it and the tip of my thumb hit the rear corner of the ejector like it was a knife and trapped my thumb! Blood filled my sear and basically everywhere, so I had to stop take it all apart and clean the blood out and then try again... success after realizing I had to hold the sear with my middle finger and not my index finger and tape up my thumb. Learn the hard way ;-)
